Winery wedding venues in Margaret River: the estates everyone asks about
Margaret River is wine country first, so most couples start with an estate. These are the names that come up again and again, with the practical facts from each venue’s own website or wedding listings at the time of writing. Confirm the current numbers with the venue when you enquire.

Leeuwin and Voyager sit at the grander, more formal end; Aravina, Amelia Park and Xanadu lean more relaxed. All of them photograph beautifully in that warm South West light, which is also why your makeup has to be built to last a long, often hot day outdoors.
Wedding venues near Margaret River: Yallingup, Wilyabrup and the coast
Not every “Margaret River” wedding is in Margaret River. Two of the venues above are 20 to 40 minutes north of the town: Aravina in Yallingup and Amelia Park in Wilyabrup. The classic coastal alternative is Caves House Hotel in Yallingup: a heritage hotel set in gardens a short stroll from the beach, with ceremonies on the Emily Rose Terrace and hotel and homestead rooms on the property, so guests and the bridal party can stay where the wedding is. The Yallingup and Dunsborough stretch also has private beach houses and smaller boutique venues if you’re after something more intimate.
If you’re getting ready away from the venue, that 20 to 40 minutes matters for the timeline: I finish you at the house, and the drive to the ceremony comes out of the buffer.
Getting ready at a Margaret River venue: what changes
A Margaret River wedding is a road trip for almost everyone, so a few things change versus a city wedding:
- Travel time: roughly three hours from Perth. Most couples make a weekend of it, and so do their suppliers. I usually drive down the day before so I’m rested and on site early.
- Where you get ready: Caves House and Aravina let you get ready on the property. At the estates in Margaret River itself, most couples book a house or lodge nearby, so factor the drive to the ceremony into the morning.
- One property, one flow: many estates host the ceremony, photos and reception on site, so a tight morning timeline keeps the day calm.
- Light and heat: ceremonies in the vines or the forest run warm in peak season (October to April). I build the base and setting routine for that, and a trial in Perth beforehand locks in what works for your skin.

The morning timeline, worked backwards
I book about 45 minutes for the bride and 30 to 40 minutes for each bridesmaid or mum, do the bride last, and hold at least 30 minutes of buffer before the photographer arrives. Worked back from a 1pm photo-ready time:
