When should you book your wedding makeup artist?

Book your wedding makeup artist as early as you possibly can. I take just one wedding per day, so once a date is held it’s yours — and for popular spring and autumn Saturdays in Perth, that often means enquiring 9 to 12+ months ahead.

Why earlier is genuinely better

Because I only ever take one wedding a day, my calendar fills date by date rather than slot by slot. There’s no second chair and no overlapping booking — your morning is unhurried and built entirely around you and your party. The flip side is simple: once a Saturday is taken, it’s gone, so the couples who enquire first are the ones who lock in their first-choice date.

Booking early also means your makeup is settled long before the busy final months, when there’s plenty else to organise. With the date held, we can plan your trial and your wedding-morning timeline at a relaxed pace.

When Perth dates book out

Perth’s wedding peak falls in the milder months — roughly September to November in spring, and March to May in autumn — when the weather is kind and venues across the city and wine regions are in demand. Those Saturdays are the first to go.

Wedding seasonTypical Perth monthsHow far ahead to enquire
Spring (peak)Sep–Nov9–12+ months
Autumn (peak)Mar–May9–12+ months
SummerDec–Feb6–9 months
WinterJun–Aug4–6 months

A Swan Valley winery wedding on a spring Saturday is exactly the kind of date that tends to be claimed earliest, so if you’ve got a region like that in mind, treat the date as the thing to secure first.

A simple booking timeline

Here’s how it usually unfolds, working backwards from the day:

  • 9–12+ months out: Enquire and secure your date with bridal makeup. This is the single most important step.
  • 4–6 weeks out: Book your trial so we can perfect your look and confirm the morning’s timing.
  • 1–2 weeks out: Final headcount and getting-ready details locked in — who needs makeup, and in what order.
  • On the day: I travel to you, with one wedding only, so there’s never a rush.

What you’ll need to confirm a date

To hold your date I just need the essentials: your wedding date, your getting-ready location, and a rough number for your bridal party. Bridal makeup starts from $150 and bridesmaid or party makeup from $150 per person, with a travel fee that may apply depending on where you’re getting ready. Whether you’re in Fremantle, the city, or out in the wine country, the earlier you reach out, the more likely your date is still open.

If you’re even loosely considering me for your wedding, send an enquiry now rather than later — there’s no harm in asking, and it’s the surest way to keep your preferred Saturday yours.

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book my wedding makeup artist in Perth?
As early as you can — ideally 9 to 12+ months out, especially for a spring or autumn Saturday. I take one wedding per day, so a date is only ever held for one couple.
Can I still book if my wedding is only a few months away?
Yes, it's always worth asking. Last-minute dates do come up, but the most popular Saturdays go first, so the sooner you enquire the better your chances.
Do you take more than one wedding a day?
No. I only ever take one wedding per day so your morning is unhurried and the timing is built entirely around you and your party.
How much is bridal makeup?
Bridal makeup starts from $150, with bridesmaid and party makeup from $150 per person. A travel fee may apply depending on your location.
Does a trial need to be booked separately?
It's worth arranging your trial once your date is locked in — usually four to six weeks before the wedding — so we can plan it into the timeline together.
