Mother-of-the-bride makeup should look soft, luminous and unmistakably like you — a fresher, more polished version of your everyday face, never a heavy mask. The mother of the bride has one of the loveliest briefs of the day: look elegant and photograph beautifully, while complementing the bride rather than competing with her. So I keep the palette refined and the finish luminous — a soft, defined eye, groomed brows, a flush of cream blush, and a lip that reads well in photos alongside the bridal party. It’s the same thinking behind my mature-skin makeup: brighten and lift, never cake or overload.
Prep is where it’s won
On mature skin, what happens before the makeup matters as much as the makeup itself. I smooth, hydrate and balance the skin first so coverage glides on and never settles into fine lines — the single biggest thing that separates a fresh finish from a heavy one.
